Century 12 Farms believes in supporting and developing a strong community.

We donate annually to the local Hospital Board and to the local high school with a scholarship.

Our family also contributes to the community by volunteering on many boards and through being involved with sports teams.

In 2020 our family was awarded the Farm Family of the Year for Flagstaff County. We were very honoured to have been nominated and to have won!

Roger is currently on the Board of Directors for the Alberta Canola Growers and the Canadian Canola Growers.

He has also been an active member in the Lions' Club, the Killam Recreation Board, and the Ag. Society.

When our oldest son, Brant, was in junior high, Roger coached basketball.  He has also been manager of our youngest son's minor hockey team.

When our youngest son, Derek, reached high school, he helped coach at hockey clinics.  He and our daughter Jacqueline also coached U6 ball, which made Jacqueline want to become an elementary school teacher, and made Derek never want children!

Jacqueline taught Sunday school and was very involved with "Because I am a Girl." Due to her incredible fundraising for this global charity, she received the Premier's Citizenship Award which is given to 25 Albertans under 25 years of age. The spokesperson for the charity, Jennifer Heil, also sent congratulations.

I taught Jr. and Sr. High for 33.5 years; I retired in January of 2020.  During those 33 years, I spent many volunteer hours coaching Team Handball, organizing the Graduation, and running Students' Union events.  I also taught Sunday school when my children were younger.  I am currently a member of the "100 Women Who Care" Flagstaff.
